  • First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it double in size (60–90 minutes).
  • Shape: Punch down dough, divide into 8–10 pieces, and poke a hole in each center.
  • Second Rise: Let bagels rest for 20–30 minutes on a parchment-lined sheet.
  • Boil: Boil bagels 30–45 seconds per side.
  • Bake: Transfer to a 425°F oven; bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden.

Notes

Feel free to swap out some of the all-purpose flour with bread flour for extra chewiness. Always ensure your yeast is fresh for optimal rise and flavor.
